Hiatus Alert!

My bag is like this at the moment, no joke. I need all the paperbacks to survive.

It's that time of the year again where I have to travel to The Homeland and shake hands with relatives I've never seen since I was 2 years old and hang out with cousins I never knew were born until now and say "I'm not dancing, no way, bro" at an auntie's wedding and end up getting blisters on my feet from dancing till 4 AM.

Basically, I'm going to be traveling for about 2 or 3 weeks to a land where WiFi is uncertain or non-existent. And even if the Almighty Internet was strong as heck, the electricity goes out at least 3 times every day. Yeah, that's the kind of place I come from but I still like going there so that says a lot about me. I don't even know why. Maybe it's the whacky people and the drama?

Actually, yes. The drama is so vibrant and fresh. I'm always that one creep grinning widely in the background as cousins break into a brawl or when the kids are shrieking because a lizard was found in Urooj's teacup or when an old, respectable aunt is having a Vision into the future and everyone is gasping and getting on their knees. I love how it's always like a crazy variety show.

Anyways, where was I? Oh yeah, lack of WiFi. Because there will be no internet, there's no chance I'll be posting. I'm going to be gone for 2 or 3 weeks or MAYBE EVEN A MONTH too so dang, you'll all probably forget I even existed by the time I'm back. But don't worry, I'll be reading all the books whenever I can and I'm going to be posting a bazillion arguably fun reviews when I'm back!

I'm not going to be scheduling any posts too. I've always seen this blog as a place for me to share and interact about bookish things while I can. It's not a place where I dump my thoughts into a pit and walk away. That's not how things work here so I won't be posting anything at all until I get back. I'm unpopular enough to get away with it hehe(^_-)≡★

Please be more than free to drop some awesome beach read titles or suggest books that you've loved reading while you were on vacation! I'll be sure to go through all your suggestions before I leave :")

Have a great time blogging and reading everyone! I have to say, I'm upset that I'll be missing out on quite a lot of posts over the weeks but I'll be sneaking peaks at your recaps to see what you've been up to while I was gone on the Other Side Of The Wall. See you soon ~

Review: Sugar by Deirdre Riordan Hall

Title: Sugar
Author: Deirdre Riordan Hall
Genre(s): Contemporary, Romance
Publisher: Skyscape
Release Date:  June 1, 2015
Date Read:  July 15, 2015
Buy This Book: Amazon | Book Depository
My Rating: ★ ★ ★ ✩ ✩
Sugar Legowski-Gracia wasn’t always fat, but fat is what she is now at age seventeen. Not as fat as her mama, who is so big she hasn’t gotten out of bed in months. Not as heavy as her brother, Skunk, who has more meanness in him than fat, which is saying something. But she’s large enough to be the object of ridicule wherever she is: at the grocery store, walking down the street, at school. Sugar’s life is dictated by taking care of Mama in their run-down home—cooking, shopping, and, well, eating. A lot of eating, which Sugar hates as much as she loves.

When Sugar meets Even (not Evan—his nearly illiterate father misspelled his name on the birth certificate), she has the new experience of someone seeing her and not her body. As their unlikely friendship builds, Sugar allows herself to think about the future for the first time, a future not weighed down by her body or her mother.

Soon Sugar will have to decide whether to become the girl that Even helps her see within herself or to sink into the darkness of the skin-deep role her family and her life have created for her.

Pixar Book Tag!

The graphic was made by the tag creator Mishma @ Chasing Faerytales and I had to use it because it was so cute (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ And I can finally say I've been tagged to do something now! Accomplishment achieved. It's all thanks to Jillian's Books, who is a sweet marshmallow with a seriously intriguing blog!

This tag combines 2 of some of my favorite things: books and Pixar movies! Ahhh, Pixar. I think the first Pixar film I watched was Finding Nemo in the 1st grade and everyone in my class (especially me) cried at the end because we were all so relieved for Nemo. Ever since, I watched these movies with my brothers, mostly as a way to stop my smallest brother from crying, but I ended up enjoying them as much as him (maybe even more). So this tag will be a hoot ~

Top Ten Hyped Books I've Never Read

"Top Ten Tuesday" is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
This list could go on forever because I'm a slow reader and also a wary reader but I usually like jumping onto the hype train even if it leads to another train wreck. I guess I just want to experience the feels that everyone else is feeling so I could join in on their exciting conversations. The following books I might read or I might not, depends on whether I think the hype is "deserved"~

June 2015: Good Trash, Diverse Shows & Hansol Memes

Half off 2015 has passed already and I don't even know what I did with my life for 6 whole months. I don't even know what happened ever since 2012 to be honest. So to avoid feeling like my life is flying by without me knowing, I decided to join in on the monthly recap posts that summarize your life for the month. I guess I like remembering the little things that happen in my life but not to the point that I have an urge to write in a journal (although my artsy fartsy side would love more than anything to have a decorative diary). A monthly recap sounds like the perfect balance!
